Wool helps isolate the cold. There is air between the small curled fibers of the wool, that trap the air in between. Trapped air makes sure that warmth doesnt go away. When it’s really windy, the wool doesn’t work very well. Wool can absorb up to 40% of its weight in moisture without it feeling moist. It can take 17% of moisture without changing anything of the qualities of the wool
