Yoga

What is that anyway?

The word yoga comes from Sanskrit and means ‘unity’ or ‘to bring together’.
Sanskrit has its origins in India and originated more than 4,000 years ago. It was a way to reach a deeper state of meditation.
Something has changed in 4,000 years. Today yoga is mainly intended to find the unity of body and mind.
You achieve this with a combination of breathing, physical exercise and concentration. The image that the Dutch used to have about yoga was quite vague.
Sitting on the floor in a not so comfortable position with swinging music. But it is much more than that and nowadays yoga is practiced more and more to become more flexible but also to find more relaxation in body and mind.
